ASR-9001 overview: The Cisco ASR 9001 Router (Figure 1) part of the Cisco ASR 9000 Series is a compact Provider Edge (PE) router offering 120 Gbps of nonblocking capacity in a Two-Rack-Unit (2RU) form factor. It shares the same Cisco IOS® XR software image as other ASR 9000 Series routers ensuring consistency across platforms. Equipped with an Integrated Route Switch Processor (RSP) and two modular bays it supports 1 GE 10 GE and 40 GE Modular Port Adapters (MPAs).
